Best American Humorous Short Stories

The two editions of this title are almost completely different as only one story is shared between the two. The initial edition is edited by Alexander Jessup and contains 18 short stories. The later edition is edited by Robert Linscott and contains 43 stories. In Linscott's short 1 page introduction (the Jessup intro is 26 pages), he mentions how quickly most humor goes sour. This explains the almost complete purging of the original stories. From the original edition Linscott kept one story, and an additional two authors although with different stories for them.
