Notes on Koestler's Darkness At Noon The ML edition says "Book of the Month Club Selection"' on the front panel of the jacket. This is NOT an indication that the ML edition was a BOMC selection. The original U.S. edition, published by Macmillan in 1941, was printed as a BOMC selection. The ML edition added the accolade to the front panel to promote the book. No MLs of the classic period (published up to 1975) were ever printed as BOMC selections, although BOMC sometimes gave away standard ML books as bonuses.
