Notes on O. Henry's Best Short Stories

This title started out with series number 4 in 1945. In 1959 ML reassigned that number to The Modern Library Dictionary and gave O. Henry series number 26.

20,000 copies of the first edition DJs were printed (probably more than were needed for the first edition books), so you may find later printings without the First Modern Library Edition slug housed in a first printing dust jacket.
