The Long March had just one printing in The Modern Library. That, coupled with the fact that it's a true first edition (as opposed to a "first thus" Modern Library editon) and cross-collectable by both first edition and Styron collectors, make it the most expensive Modern Library paperback title. Copies routinely sell for over $100.

ML bibliographer Barry Neavill provides this information: "I have complete sales records for 1958/59 and 1959/60 of ML Paperbacks, and The Long March was one of the poorer selling titles at this time -- 3,700 copies -- though it sold 900 more copies in 1959/60 than in 1958/59, which was encouraging. According to James L.W. West's Styron bibliography, The Long March had 3 more printings, but the 2nd-4th printings were under the Vintage Books imprint."
